I only recently got his done, so I'm not going to upgrade to Win 10 any time soon. (There is a workaround, but it is horrendous.) Adobe digital edition comes with some very useful features like bookmark, highlighting text, adding comments, full screen mode, borrowing eBooks from several public libraries, various options to organize files.
It did the trick! I can even paste from Windows Clipboard to WordStar, though I can't copy back again. Adobe digital edition has made reading and managing of eBooks and other digital publications easy and exciting at the same time. Then some genius developed vDos as a tool for gamers. (I could open a WordStar file, and edit it, but I couldn't save the edited version.) I finally lashed the two computers together, so when I wanted to work in WordStar I tapped the Num Lock key two times, and hey presto! My laptop innards appeared on my desktop monitor and responded to my desktop keyboard. A tech-savvy gent worked with me literally for weeks but couldn't crack it (by email we're separated by 7,000 miles). I absolutely could not run WordStar (a DOS program) on my Windows 7 desktop though I was easily able to do so on my laptop, running the exact same OS (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit). Its full offline installer standalone setup of Indesign CC 2015 for 32/64bit. Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On is developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and is used by 230 users of Software Informer. Permissions can be a minefield in my experience. The Getting Started eBook is pre-installed with Adobe Digital Editions 4.

Since Windows 10 is the only variable between 'working' and 'not working' I think this may be the culprit - but don't know how to fix it.
I have been using the same set up for over three years with no issues - now I have issues. I went through permission issues before and now make sure I have admin rights on everything. I'm the only one using this computer - I have admin rights on everything.
